Oct 2024
Unpaid Carers Allowance earning threshold set to increase
To respond to the work that CarersUK have done in increasing awareness of carers in poverty, the government are setting out an increase in the earning limit for carer’s allowance. This will mean that the earning limit on CA will be 16 hours AT THE NATIONAL LIVING WAGE (£12.21). This is set to come into force from April, 2025, the new financial year. Working carers will be able to earn £196 per week and claim Carer’s Allowance – that will be an approximate increase of £45/ week in comparison to the previous earnings threshold of £151.
