Taking the step to potentially improve your financial situation can take a dogged commitment to just find the time. It’s worth giving up 20-30 minutes to do this.
Turn2Us is an inspiring charity providing guidance to so many people who are struggling in the UK.
The orange link above takes you to their 😲benefits calculator and a link to investigate any grants that might be applicable.
Turn2Us collate population data for research, outlining the genuine struggles experienced by people living in the UK. The new section on the front page also helps you to fill in the PIP application, stage by stage.
💗Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert site offers a monthly newsletter informing the UK public of savings they can make on household energy bills, insurance, mortgages and credit cards etc.
Their car insurance comparison site has little notes at the side of sections, e.g. one said it’s sometimes reduces insurance costs to insure someone else on your car. As well as freebies and other information, the MSE team also offer guidance on making the most of banking opportunities, where banks offer financial incentives to swap to another bank…which I took advantage of earlier this year = hello £175 💗 *** (see below)
Don’t ignore recognised charities like Macmillan Cancer Trust.
Happy Tinker wrote: ‘If you are in the position for caring due to cancer – Macmillian was an amazing resource for helping mum financially, and signposting and filling forms in for dad. They even advocated for dad to get better benefits and helped mum get help with funeral costs.’
So my suggestion would be not to ignore recognised charities for health conditions as they can give extra input.
An account based discount site for carers. I don’t know much about this site, but the discounts look attractive.
*** I do not work for a bank, I’m a teacher! So I have no financial gain to promote certain banks.
If you have POA and also need quick access to your loved ones’ account for paying bills through your bank app etc, TSB offers dual access in their normal account app, which is really handy; applicants will need to evidence POA and take part in a video call with your loved one present.
